Forests

X-Plane® forests are used to dynamically generate a large number of items over a wide area. A forest file contains a reference to a texture and a set of ‘trees’ (which don’t actually need to be vegetation – they could be any repeating item such as people or boats). The simulator generates the individual items while it is running, so the forest file specifies various options such as density, randomness and dimensions.
